Delivering a secure school server migration and device transition
St John’s Primary School needed a carefully managed IT infrastructure project that could be delivered in a live school environment. The project involved moving from an existing server to new server hardware and operating system, while protecting data, user access and continuity for staff and pupils.

The scope covered one server, 13 staff laptops, 32 student laptops and 9 student desktop machines. The project involved transferring data and user accounts, setting up roaming profiles and folder redirection, implementing managed anti-virus protection, reconnecting shared print services and configuring Group Policy restrictions for student accounts.

The team configured roaming profiles and folder redirection, implemented Sophos managed anti-virus across devices, re-established connection to the main printer/copier and applied Group Policy restrictions for student accounts.
This ensured the new environment supported staff productivity while maintaining appropriate access controls for pupils.
